What is worship? How do we worship? Is worship important? Is it different than praise? We see an example of worship in the OT when the priests went to the Tabernacle. They entered through the gate with "thanksgiving". When we are approaching God in our private time of devotion, we should come with a thankful heart. Thanking Him for all that He is. What are you most thankful for? Tell Him. Lift your voice and thank our Mighty God...the giver of all good things. For peace, joy and your very breath. For He is the Life-Giver!
Then, as the priest entered the courtyard...they entered with "praise". Praise His Mighty Name! Praise Him for who He is...sovereign, all-knowing, all-powerful, faithful, love, just, true, holy and covenant keeper. This was done before entering the "Holy of Holies" where the presence of God was. His glory (His presence) would come down and meet face to face. Wow! God tells us that He inhabits our praises! He comes face to face with us. It is our praises that brings His glory before us! It is in that moment we should bring our most heart-felt petitions before Him...in His Presence. His Presence causes you to be more aware of His desires for your life and those around you. You become more in tune with praying according to His will.
Thanksgiving and praise brings your heart into worship. A reverence and awe of who your God is. I hope you will make it part of your day...every day. I guarantee you will never be the same. It will move you forward into the plans God has for you. Good plans...one of a future and a hope.
